Question: Braces on teeth soon???????????????? HELP.........?
I am nervous for a few things. 1- would I have to quit Choir 2-will it hurt and for how long 3- any other things I should know before I get them??????????????????????????

Relax. Braces are no big deal.
First off, your first three questions,
1. No, you definitely don't have to quit chorus, tons of great singers have braces at some point in their life. It shouldn't affect your singing at all.
2. It will hurt for a few days after you get them. It will just be sore. Then, after you get them tightened at times, they might hurt for a day or two. Put, its not that bad. Really.
3. Just relax. Follow the instructions you orthodontist gives you. There are some foods you shouldn't eat, but honestly, they may not do anything anyway. Just be careful.
Okay, head gear, hmm... I looked that up. I guess you do like where it on your head/teeth for 10-14 hours a day. You could just wear it at night. But, that seems quite annoying. But, it would be worth it in the end, believe me.
However, I would try to go against that one. The springs are like rubber bands. I wore those. They are very annoying really, but if you actually wear them when you are supposed to, they do the job, and you won't have to wear them for a while. And they don't look ugly. I would definitely go with those.

Braces only hurt for the first 5 days or so. It takes about another week to get use to it. It shouldn't bother your choir.
Headgear is a piece of metal that connects to your braces and wraps around your neck. It's just extra tension and hurts the first few days, you only have to wear the headgear at home and while you sleep also. The worst part about bracers are spacers which you get about a month after the braces. But while your getting the braces on and the week or so after that are pretty bad. Good Luck!

The head gear might impede your singing but only be worried if you have to have a retainer because I sounded like i was mentally handicapped for about a week after i got mine. It will hurt for a few days after you get your wires changed and adjusted but longer if they make drastic changes
Braces don't effect anything.... They just hurt for the first few days(: almost everyone haves them.. Hahah don't worry
yeah i dunno how old u r but just b lucky u are getting them now! im turning 19 this year, i am in college, and i am barely going to get them. so be happy about getting them now! lol
