teeth whitening question?!

Question: Teeth whitening question?
when i was 2, i fell off a swing and chipped my tooth, and it left a brown stain on my tooth. when i was 12 my dentist was able to fill it in and now it looks normal. However, if I use a whitening product, such as crest whitestrips, do you think it will strip off the filler covering the stain leaving me with whitened teeth except for that one brown spot? or do you think that spot would be fine and all my teeth would get equally whitened? I don't want to use a whitening product if there's a chance it might not whiten that spot where the stain used to be. thanks for your help!

i would think that where the spot was, would not whiten. some things can cause teeth to turn a different shade (yellow, brown) that cannot be whitened (for instance, sometimes high doses of antibiotics can change the shade of your teeth, and it cannot be whitened bc its inside the tooth, not the surface).

but, i don't know for sure so i would ask your dentist at your next appt.

That spot simply won't change color. It won't get whiter and it won't uncover the stain.

Whitening products actually go to work on the dentin in your teeth which is the stuff below the enamel of your tooth. Fillings are unaffected by teeth whitening procedures.

I have the coolest suggestion for you! I found this site where you can try different types of products for free. The down side is you have to pay like 5 or 6 bucks for shipping, and you have to make sure to cancel your renewal (they send instructions in the package) if you don't want to keep getting the product. But the up side is that you get to try high dollar products (well, they're high dollar to me, lol) for free! A lot of the products claim to be what celebrities use (I don't know whether they are or not, but the ones that I have tried worked really well). There's all kinds of stuff on there like acne treatments, anti-wrinkle creams, and of course teeth whiteners. I've tried several of the products, and the teeth whitener was the best because the trial version was all I needed to get the job done. Anyway, just thought I would let you know about it...I'm addicted to this site, lol! Best of luck to ya!

P.S. FYI-If you sign up to their newsletter
they send you some pretty cool discounts
on namebrand items. Some of them are better
than others.
