if you have an abscess you need antibiotics and pain killers after a few days the pain and swelling will get better. its probably best to go to the dentist for this.

Amoxicillin is an anti-biotic so it's trying to fight off the infection. You should go back to the dentist asap tho if it is getting worse. Not being able to eat isn't a good sign. Watch out for further side effects if any dart to affect breathing then go straight to the hospital. Try and eat ice-cream and drink cold drinks to help take down the swelling. Also put a bag of peas on your cheek. An abses can be quite harmful if it pops so try to get it sorted as so as you can.
Hope this helps.
Good luck

I would suggest limiting your intake of hard foods that need to be masticated for a long time such as meat, or chewing foods. Try to see the dentist asap, but if you need to eat, make sure they are soft foods that don't need too much effort to break down in your mouth and swallow.
