Getting all my teeth pulled....?!

Question: Getting all my teeth pulled....?
I am going in to get my teeth pulled. Right now, I have many teeth that are broken off, and my mouth is full of abscesses. The dentist says I need to have them all pulled, over a series of 3 visits, and then after they have all been out for a month, I will get dentures. When I asked why they wouldn't pull them all at once, I was told they would pull as many in one sitting as they think is safe. I am really scared about doing this. The dentist assures me that they will numb my mouth, but I am still worried about pressure/pain. Can anyone tell me what to expect? With the extractions themselves, the healing afterward, and the recovery with dentures? Thanks!

Your pain can be managed. There will be some pain/discomfort for several days but doing things like taking the prescribed medications and using ice packs off and on will help control pain. I would think if they find the extractions are easy going they might continue until they reach a particularly hard one and who knows, they might get them all out in one shot.

You should take your iPod with you to help relax you and to cover the sounds of the work being done. The pain and discomfort will gradually ease up over the following couple of days and will be pretty much gone in a week unless something else is wrong. You should stay in close contact with the dentist so that they can manage any discomfort you have.

As for how things will be once you have your dentures installed- you can expect your mouth to feel very full, you will have to learn to chew and to speak again but they can be done with practice. It will be very important to follow the dentists instructions to the letter during this whole process. Wear the dentures as much as you possibly can so that your mouth gets used to them. Have any sore spots tended to right away and remain positive.

Feel free to contact me by e-mail if you want. I have dentures

No but seriously, I'm sorry to hear that, I'm sure it will turn out for the better.

Hi ,

I know how you feel. I like many others have an adverse fear of the dentist which is due to a really frightening experience when I was a kid. I used to have sleepless nights and break out in cold sweats just thinking about it. That is until my friends told me about a youtube video which I related to and I got a hold of a Free Fear report which helped me to address my fear to take action.

I found a really sympathetic dentist who helped me step by step encouraging me to get the treatment I needed.

I no longer have teeth or gums problems and have got to the stage that seeing the dentist is just not such an ordeal now. This has also helped my friends and I can assure you that I was the dentist's worse patient. Not now and if you are truly phobic and afraid of the dentist get to see the video and the report is life changing.

Whatever teeth problems you have then only solution is by seeing your dentist of finding one who you relate to.

See if you relate to the video below and if so get the report which helped me to get my teeth sorted and overcome my fear. I know it will help you.

Do not suffer any longer. Get your smile back.
All the best, and keep smiling ok?
