Pain in right side of jaw when I lay down. What might it be?!

Question: Pain in right side of jaw when I lay down. What might it be?
For the past few days I've had this terrible pain in my jaw when I lay down to sleep. It's beginning to persist when I'm up, but it's far worse when I'm laying down. So much so that it wakes me out of a sound sleep. It's right at the jaw hinge. I have also noticed popping in my ear, which makes me thing ear infection, but there's no pain in my ear at all.

I have insurance, but obviously if someone has some suggestion that'd save me from a stupid copay I'd take it.

Answers:

It might be an abscessed tooth, or sometimes it is just a hereditary thing, cause my jaw "pops" when I chew or lay down and move it. I asked about it and he said it's just hereditary. I find I just have to take some Ibuprofen (or something like it) for a while. Usually goes away tho

experience

I have herd of this happening to people before and I think it's quite common...
