Question: Is this true about dental braces that they make your face ugly?
Is that true? I never had the braces, thank Odin I did not I would not want to have an ugly face. I have a crooked tooth but I am not from the US we do not obsess about every little imperfection. However I know that that Americans always put the dental braces on their children you think it is making them have ugly face?

Honestly it is impossible to prove one way or the other. Every person is different, how can you prove that their face would not have changed in that way even if they had not had braces? You cannot even test it, because like I said everyone is different, so have two people with crooked teeth and giving one braces and not the other and assessing changes in their facial features will not work. There are so many factors which affect a person's appearance, particularly on their face which is always exposed, that it would not be a controlled and fair test.

What you are sayin is that in the same way over a matter of a couple years.....your face is stretched to accommadate your teeth, your face is also disfigured.
Sometimes that could be the case because YES in America we do obsess with beauty but however we ALSO obsess with health

I always had the most winning beautiful smile but in a moment it was virtually wiped away due to an infection that if NOT taken care of would have killed me
So i had no choice but to undergo dental maxifacial surgery . YES it CAN deform a persons face....losing ones teeth is devastatingly horrible to a persons looks. Thats why dentures are so valuable but its not JUST looks or vanity.... Do you know that when your jaws arent chewing right or pop together it can cause migraines, jaw pains, neck, shoulder pains???

No, even if you feel self conscious with them your teeth will look even prettier than they are now and so will you. I won't lie there are some cruel people out there that do and have called people with braces names same as teasing for any other reason. If this happens just ignore them, or you could bite them. But as i said they don't make you look any different really. A few of my friends had them when i was at school and i always wanted them to because i got a spastic tooth that annoys me.
No not all the time, loads of girls at my school have braces, but they're still really pretty. :)
