How long does it take for gingivitis to die down and not be visible?!

Question: How long does it take for gingivitis to die down and not be visible?
Hi, I admit I haven't taken the best care of my teeth. But about one month ago, I noticed they were red and angry so I googled it and through a visual match up, I diagnosed myself with gingivitis.

Recently, over the last 2-3 days a small section of my gums have started bleeding when I brush them. Naturally, I am concerned. This happened after falling asleep without brushing my teeth for 2 nights in a row due to a certain puppy staying up all day and night and depriving me of sleep >:I.

Anyway, I was wondering... How long will it take to go away if I brush AT LEAST twice a day and use mouthwash after breakfast and before bed.

Thanks in advance =)

Answers:

Healthy gums don't bleed when brushing so I think your plan of brushing twice a day and using mouthwash is great-but you should include flossing daily. Flossing is essential in getting rid of gingivitis. It's going to hurt and bleed at first, but once your gums are healthy it won't hurt/bleed at all.

Good luck! :)
