Question: Teeth neglected through depression and I need to make them strong?
I have Bipolar disorder type 2 and I go through long bouts of depression and depression can lead to self neglegt.

When in a depression phase that lasts a long time, I can go days without taking a shower and weeks without brushing my teeth.

My teeth are still in tact, I haven't got any cavities and they are quite straight.

The problem is, is that they are stained by smoking and coffee and they feel weak, and I was wandering how I can help make them stronger and whiter at home?

There are toothpastes that you can buy that will strengthen them AND whiten them at the same time. You can buy that toothpaste at most stores like Wal Mart.



You could eat a lot mineral rich foods or take mineral supplements. Although a lot of toothpaste commercials would have you believe they are going to strengthen your teeth its quite misleading.
Fluoride can strengthen your teeth but usually the people who have fluoride in their drinking water have it in a form called stanous fluoride. Also people with strong bones and teeth tend to live in areas where the ground water has a lot of magnesium as well as calcium. But calcium is also overrated because the fact is most people consume it in excess while not having enough magnesium and boron. There is much research you can do for yourself but truly the key to having strong bones and teeth is nutrition. But periods of malnutrition actually slowly destroy your bones and teeth, potentially sapping them of minerals.
