Question: Really want braces off?!?! >w<?

ok so I really loathe my braces. I'm miserable and cry like everyday since having them. I'm starving (really skinny too >w<) I don't wanna go through all that pain just for a "perfect smile" I'd rather have my "ugly" teeth which aren't even crooked, just a slight overbite. I really wanna eat solid food instead of soft foods which don't fill me. I only have so long to live anyway so what's wrong with a little imperfection which you can't even notice? A person should love you for you right? I hate tasting this metal in my mouth, getting cuts and having to get teeth extracted and operations, and retainers. I honestly think we put to much emphasis on beauty and less appreciation for what we have. I want to be me what's so wrong with that? I think its not worth it and would rather be "imperfect". My bf thinks I'm perfect just the way I am. I wanna be happy and braces really aren't for me. i have medicaid so my parents didn't have to pay for it. they may consider removing them since I'm completely MISERABLE. (sorry for asking again on the US site) help pls :'(

i had braces, they were on for a year. They hurt for a bit but then i got used to them! you will too, there not that bad to be honest.. i dont regret getting them but if u really really cant stand them im sure you can get them removed. they shouldnt make you feel like that, dont let them bother you! just forget there there.. and if u get them removed noone will even notice i think dentists just make you have them cos thats there job to tell you that lol im sure your teeth are fine the way they are :)

How long have you had them? If it's only been a day or so it gets a lot better! I was like this when i got my braces on 4 years ago (still have them on but getting them off soon.) You would probably regret getting them off too early in the future as an adult. Pain is temporary, you must remember that. A beautiful smile is forever! (but you need to wear a retainer ofcourse hahah) But trust me...I have been through it all! I have had a pallet expander, spacers, retainer, powerchains, some thing on the top of the roof of my mouth that leaves a mark on my tongue. Its going to be ok. I am going through the same thing every month i have to get a tightening. Just trust me on this one. It Will Be SOOO worth it!

4 years of braces, 1 year of a retainer somewhere in between those 4 years. (freshmen in HS currently)
