Don't want to get a root canal? Natural cure for tooth infection?!

Question: Don't want to get a root canal? Natural cure for tooth infection?
The tooth has turned greyish, there is a pus ball on the gums. The dentist said i have an infection and its too late for antibiotics to work. He said the tooth is dead and I need a root canal. I dont want a root canal and even if I was willing to do it I dont have money for it. I'm going to try antibiotics anyway. Is there a chance it will help? are there any natural ways to remove the infection and get rid of it? Is the tooth going to go back to its original color when its healed? Pleas help!!!

The dentist is the professional here and knows what he is talking about.

When the nerve is infected to the point you need a root canal, then as your dentist said the tooth is dead. Antibiotics won't bring it back to life.

Your only other options besides a root canal are to have the tooth extracted (a much less expensive procedure) or to keep a dead and decaying tooth in your mouth. End of story, sorry.

Antibiotics will only prevent the existing infection from spreading or getting worse and will NOT eliminate it as long as there is dead tissue inside the tooth. Only after all the dead nerve is removed and the canal thoroughly cleaned will the infection finally go away. The only way to remove the dead and infected nerve is by doing a root canal. There are no natural ways to remove the infection; it must be physically removed by doing a root canal. As long as there is dead nerve tissue still within the tooth, there will never be any healing or will the original tooth color ever return (the discoloration is permanent). No one can help you until you accept the fact that a root canal or extraction is necessary.

If there is an infected tooth then it is diseased. Anti-biotics may not help at all. I was afraid at first about getting my root canal but got it done. I had to get 3!, that sucked. But I barely felt the pain, although there was a little discomfort afterwards. Now my teeth don't hurt at all, even when cold or hot liquids hit it. They put a crown over it so the actual tooth is no longer there. As far as the procedure is concerned it's not a big deal. Sorry there are no known natural ways to heal it. The tooth color may not return either. If you can afford it get it done, If not save up it may only get worse.

replying to "tooth 975" guy that says he is a dentist.i thought if a patient doesnt have the money like this guy says, i thought he wouldnt be able to get a root canal even if he wanted to?? i think you can work with your dentist and he can help you get money from a bank an create some sort of payment method.then you would have to pay of the bank.it sucks but i think thats one way you can do it.

and im not a DDS but im a Dental Assistant

The best way to go is root canal. They are very costly but you can see if your insurance covers any of it. The other option is to extract it. It will cost less and if you decide to replace it you will have a brand new tooth! The bump on your gum is a sign of an abscess (or infection). Which is not good! The antibiotics are only a temporary fix, it won't completely cure it. So think about it and talk to your dentist again, he's the expert!

The natural way to get rid of a tooth infection is to wait for death. Once the infection gets in your blood stream and into your heart, it's Goodnight Irene!

The cause of the infection at this point includes the degrading dead tooth root tissue.
Once it is actually dead, it can not be restored to life. If caught EARLY, antibiotic treatment (whether natural or pharmaceutical) can reverse an infection that is NOT based on already dead tooth root. A normal healthy tooth is constantly being cleaned, from the inside, out. This is done by circulating fluid from the nerve, through the dentin, & into the mouth. . .

What happens when there is an infection, is that the root swells. In so doing, blood circulation to the root gets cut down, or even completely cut off. The latter kills the root. If the root is allowed to remain intact, it continues to cause infection. It can lead to all kinds of other health problems . . . all kinds. This is why the removal of the root is important for overall health.

Ask the dentist if he will take payments over time, or maybe even trade services with you.
My aunt's sister was not a well known artist, but she used to trade her paintings for much of her medical care, as her doctor accepted them as payment. {That is just an example). Maybe you could do something else for your dentist, like housekeeping, yard-work, shopping, or something else --- something that you can do well, perhaps something that he needs to do, but does not like to do.

If your tooth is already grey, I don't hold out much hope for it.
Root canals are expensive, and some people just have the tooth cut out, instead.
Removal of the root is necessary for healing to take place.
Some people prefer getting a bridge, or false tooth, sometimes they can be made to 'snap' between the other teeth. Us poor folk often just get them removed, though. The problem with that is that the teeth tend to move around, & it can adversely affect your 'bite'. But, it is up to you. Just getting it removed will initially be way cheaper than a root canal, and maybe long-term as well. (Dentists make a large part of their income through root-canals, so it's no surprise that your dentist may not have offered to just remove it for you. Ask him to explain all the other possible treatment options to you.)

In the future, you may need to improve your mouth hygiene habits, to prevent having to make such decisions:
