Brushing teeth is making me gag?!

Question: Brushing teeth is making me gag?

Lately, almost every time I brush my teeth, I gag. Just now, I gagged so much that my stomach actually hurts. I don't know what it is. I'm not putting the brush deep in my mouth or anything? And I'm still using the same toothpaste as I did before I started gagging.
Any ideas/suggestions?

When u brush ur teeth, tilt ur head downward so the spit and toothpaste fluids don't go down ur throut
