Does it hurt to get braces put on?!

Question: Does it hurt to get braces put on?
When they are being tightened?

Answers:

I have braces :) First time you get pully-out-braces. They're just a pain and sometimes ache. They're agony to clean (DONT use toothpaste or they'll go yellow.....) then soon on when your teeth have gone straight-ish, you get traintracks ;D They dont hurt at all. They ache - alot. Just be prepared with lots of pain killers and maybe a hot water bottle to make yourself feel better :L And when they get tightened... wow it aches - but it goes the next day. You cant eat properly either so get plenty of soup and SOFT foods! You have to clean your teeth like 2/3 times a day or the food will get stuck between the teeth - leading to decay etc. Its not all doom and gloom; you should get perfect teeth at the end - although it aches, alot. If your having them; good luck! Dont think about not having them becuase they ache - becuase you'll regret it when your older. x

Personal experience :D My braces have another year to go -_-

it hurts a bit but you can live when you have them put on it will hurt much more than getting them tightened. when i had my braces i slept most of the day when i first had them put on but after tightening i just didn't eat for about 5 hours and if i did i only at pasta and soup etc

Basically they hurt a bit but you get used to the pain when you keep going time after time to get them tightened.

Nope, they don't hurt but kinda annoying when they keep pulling your cheeck's it kinda aches :/ but for me t start hurt like after 2 hours. They 1st thing i probaly ate was a chocolate croisant and when i bit down with my front 2 teeth . . it felt like but teeth were getting ripped out :/ i ate soft food for about 2 weeks. but for the 1st couple days eat extremley soft food. for me brushing my teeth was normal. but it did sting when your brush on the cuts
xx

Personal experience got braces 2 weeks agoo

Hi

Ive had braces and its not sore to get them tightened at the time but it is painful afterwards. Feels like your gums are bruised and you cannot bite into any food for a few days as its really sore. So you will be on the soup for a few days!

Personal experience

umm it depends on how your orthodontist performs it. It does not hurt usually, it just makes your mouth feel different, but it does not hurt.

Just pressure no pain but after you'll be achy and it's annoying
