is low-grade fever a contraindication for wisdom tooth extraction?!

Question: Is low-grade fever a contraindication for wisdom tooth extraction?
i'm scheduled to have a wisdom tooth extracted today, but i've had a slight fever for a couple of days. there's no swelling or infection in my mouth, and to the best of my knowledge, anywhere else. just the fever.

Answers:

You know I agree with calling your surgeon. A fever for a couple days does in fact seem like a contraindication for extraction. I just feel like your body doesn't need the extra stress of mechanical injury and sedation while you are fighting an infection.

I am a dentist

There shouldn't be any issue with the extraction other than the risk of passing on a possible viral infection to the dentist and/or other patients. Phone your dental surgeon or surgery and make sure, that's the best thing to do.
