What will happen if I start my dental treatment before my jaw is fully grown?!

Question: What will happen if I start my dental treatment before my jaw is fully grown?
I'm 14 and the dentist said my bottom jaw isn't fully grown yet so she doesn't want to start treatment on me. She said to come back this October but I really hate my teeth and they are causing me genuine distress so my Mom said she'll phone the dentist and ask her to start treatment sooner. My jaw is overcrowded. I have two teeth growing out of my gum on my top jaw, and two of my bottom teeth are behind the rest because there is no room for them. I'm not sure what treatment I will need, but if my jaw starts growing when my treatment is happening, what will happen? Thanks in advance

You only get one go at NHS orthodontics and although you qualify for genuine clinical need this treatment needs to done at the correct time. If it is done to early and fails because of bone growth you will not get a second go.

Your mum can phone and ask but they will not do it any earlier because of your individual needs. If you want she can request that your dentist refers you to the orthodontist for a discussion appointment and then perhaps you will settle down to wait when the orthodontist has told you the facts and figures himself.

There is off course the private option to starting earlier but the treatment will be really slow and long term to accommodate bone growth and will cost over £2,500.
