braces, midline correction question?!
Question: Braces, midline correction question?
so i just got back from the orthodontics and my autho has given me elastic bands to wear on only my right side. a few appointments back he gave me elastics to fix my overbite and it worked wonders. but now he has given me thicker bands to wear only on the right side. he told me it was because my top and bottom teeth dont match up. my lower jaw is slightly shifted to the right or my top to the left. my question is why has he given me these bands and what will they hopefully do. anyone else every worn just one elastic?

yes, I have and still do... does your go from the top one-side to the bottom, the other???.. oh no horrid ... mine was also explained to be a midline thing... it pulls the top teeth, and the bottom teeth - inline (ie to the the midline correct). I find it difficult because i cant lick my lips or even stick my toung eout al all and my lips get really dry and my tounge quite raw at time... and it looks horrid... contact me on :chantal2009@gmail.com and I will give u some hints and ideas to try help, bye for now, Chantal
