my gums are growing over the bracket on my last tooth that holds the braces together

Sometimes that can happen from not brushing good enough and it causes gums to get inflamed. Try brushing in small circles with a soft tooth brush and angle the toothbrush and brush above the bracket. It is very common for the back teeth brackets to be placed right at the gumline.
