Are there any new types of dental braces?!

Question: Are there any new types of dental braces?
As an adolescent I wore those classic metal braces for almost 6 years, and wore a retainer for almost 1 years. Now that I am 31 years old, my teeth have now relapsed. I have been told by a dentist that I now need to wear braces again. I have a choice between the old classic metal braces or invisilign removable braces for about 2 years. I recently heard a rumor about a new type of braces that only has to be worn as 6 months maximum, I am wondering if there any truth to this rumor.

Invisalign invisible braces.
Powerprox 6 month braces.

If there was anything as good as metal braces that does the business then all the orthodontists would GTA rid of the metal ones ...... unfortunately it's not the case

The ideal brace for dentist/patient/parent would be invisible /cheap /painless and quick with fantastic results............If anyone invents such a system, get in touch with me and we can retire wealthy in a very short time

What you're talking about is "six month braces." Google the term and you'll find the information you're looking for. There are not many orthodontists trained in that technique. IMO, you're better off going with the more traditional slower method. It's better for your teeth.

There is also a surgical procedure that can be done to speed things up, but I would NOT recommend it.
