Is 14 too young to get your wisdom teeth removed?!

Question: Is 14 too young to get your wisdom teeth removed?
my dentist said that my wisdom teeth which are in my gums are pushing my other teeth and making them crooked even with my retainers on and that I should get my wisdom teeth surgically removed. even though only my top teeth are effected by this, he said that if you get your wisdom teeth removed, it has to be all four at once. Will it hurt a lot after the surgery? And if I get laughing gas, am I possibly going to say a lot of nonsense afterward? I don't want to make a fool out of myself... And then sometime after the surgery, I need to get my top braces on again to make them straight again. So I dont know if I have too much time left to wait to get them out because I don't want my teeth to get too crooked, so I plan on getting them out in the summer time so I don't have to endure the pain during school.

Generally your wisdom teeth aren't even pushed through the bone at that age. I mean you can but he is going to have to use more than laughing gas since he has to cut though bone to get to them.

Its worth it!!!!!! I had mine all out at once & don't worry bout saying nonsesne they r use to it!! My mom said I stared into space like I was a nut case after mine hahha good luck. Now can u answer mine??

sounds like a plan dude, when i got my wisdom teeth removed i got plenty of pain killers. its really not bad as it sounds.

You got to do anything to fix your teeth.

Laughing gas doesn't make you do that. You will be sleepy when they do it and then they will give you oxygen to come out of it. The only side effect there is you will be chilly.

They usually wait until you're older, but they are causing you problems and it's best to get it taken care of. It really isn't all that bad. I thought it would be horrible, but I didn't have that much pain. They will give you pain pills and as long as you flush the holes out with the syringe they give you, you should not have any problems. Just follow his instructions and eat soft stuff for awhile and you'll be fine.

If this is your family dentist you all trust then follow his advice, along with your orthodontist & make sure your game plan is the same. You will be SORE for @ least a week to two weeks afterwards so they will prescribe you medicine for the pain and swelling. The gas will put you out & your parents will drive you home so your not really in control of what you say afterwards because you wake up with gauze and cotton in your mouth to stop the bleeding and you won't care what you say. No reason you should not wait, unless, you get a second opinion because not ALL dentist agree on what is best for someone so go to another dentist for a consultation if you all feel this is wrong.

Vast majority of people have to get them removed and it is NOT true that they ALL four have to come out @ the same time, that is probably how he likes to do it because it saves you on another trip, another surgery, another two weeks of chimp-munk cheeks and the pain and the swelling. They do all four to help you and save you some pain and suffering, instead of going through it twice because it does suck, and, you will be sore. It won't hurt till much after, like 2nd, 3rd day, and, follow ALL their instructions to avoid a dry socket.
