Is the dentist who did my crowns responsible for fixing the problems they are gi!

Question: Is the dentist who did my crowns responsible for fixing the problems they are giving me?
I had a skateboarding accident when I was a kid which basically shattered my two top front teeth. They did some kind of temporary bonding that stayed there until I was 18 and ready for full crowns.

I had the crowns put on six years ago. A small gap eventually formed between the two crowns and continues to get larger and larger. It's to the point where it's noticeable when I smile even briefly. The rest of my teeth are straight and have normal spacing and my front teeth never had spacing issues before I got crowns. Is the dentist who did my crowns responsible for fixing them or do I need to pay to have it fixed?

The problem is that your bite is pushing your front teeth forward. The gap is not happening because your crowns are shrinking. Your teeth are moving. The bone around these teeth needs to be checked. Your bite needs to be checked. Making your crowns bigger to close the space will not stop the process. You need to be checked by your dentist.

Your teeth grow and move throughout your life, so you can't hold you dentist responsible because your teeth moved away from each other.

You might need orthodontic care instead of dental care.
