i just got some whiteining toothpaste and the first time i used it, a thin layer of skin inside my mouth (around the inside of my cheek area.) is this normal?? also it doesn't really say on the bottle how many times i should use it.

Answers:

You don't have a complete question up here -what happened to the thin layer of skin inside your mouth? Did it start burning? Peeling? Bleeding? Did it change colors (i.e. become lighter/white)?

If any of the above things happened, you should discontinue use of the toothpaste immediately. It's possible you had an allergic reaction to one or more of the components found in it, most likely one of the tooth-bleaching agents.

When I used sensodine whitening, I experienced some pretty severe burning & my gums developed white patches in places. I switched to a different whitening toothpace (3D Whitening from Crest), and haven't had a problem since. If you could afford to make the change without suffering from tooth sensitivity problems, I would definitely recommend doing it as soon as possible
