I think herpes sores are usually on the outside of your mouth-cold sores.
It might just be bacteria. Biting them doesnt really cause little bumps, but neither does herpes. It is best to have a talk with your doctor or dentist, so they can examine you properly.
I had a small bump on my gum from bacteria not so long ago. I found eating sugary things make it worse, so try not to consume too much sugar. It went away in a couple weeks.
It could be an herpes ulcer, they usually go away in a couple of weeks. Just don't eat anything that will aggravate it like spicy stuff, salt and sugar.
