DENTIST 3 TEETH EXTRACTING! PETRIFIED OF INJECTIONS!!?!

Question: DENTIST 3 TEETH EXTRACTING! PETRIFIED OF INJECTIONS!!?
Okay on tuesday I am going to the dentist to get 3 of my teeth extracted, I have been avoiding this appointment for a while now and I need these teeth extracted for my braces!

Last tuesday I got my tetanus, polio and diphtheria injection (3 in one injection) and I was crying my eyes out at school I think there were only 3 or 4 people in my year who cried before hand and I had my friend holding my head while I got the injection and I didn't even feel a thing!
But this is different! I have had injections in my mouth before and they Absolutely kill!
I am going to my mums private dentist because the NHS are crap and use this bubble gum flavoured thing you bite which Only makes my tongue hurt and I can still feel the injection.

I am having 3 injections and I am sooooo scared!

Will this dentist (seeing as he is the only dentist in the building - because its private he is expected to do everything right or something)

So will I feel the injection if he gives me some sort of cream that apparently he is going to give me?

Is there any other way I can relax myself because I am usually fine in the waiting room for injections but once its time for the needle to go through my skin and into my gums that's when I turn to a whole different me!

Please someone help me I am Absolutely terrified!!!

Listening to music isn't something I want
it will not relax me!!

I have nothing to look forward to on tuesday!! apart from the fact that once I get my teeth extracted I will get braces!!!!! :):):)

Those of you who don't know what NHS is its a public service (dental wise and medical wise), its public, you don't pay much for it. But thankfully my parents are wealthy enough to take me and my brother to a private school and take me to a private dentist which I don't know but not many people can afford? I have no idea

Anyway can anyone help? Thanks!!! xxx

Hi ,

I know how you feel. I like many others have an adverse fear of the dentist which is due to a really frightening experience when I was a kid. I used to have sleepless nights and break out in cold sweats just thinking about it. That is until my friends told me about a youtube video which I related to and I got a hold of a Free Fear report which helped me to address my fear to take action.

I found a really sympathetic dentist who helped me step by step encouraging me to get the treatment I needed.

I no longer have teeth or gums problems and have got to the stage that seeing the dentist is just not such an ordeal now. This has also helped my friends and I can assure you that I was the dentist's worse patient. Not now and if you are truly phobic and afraid of the dentist get to see the video and the report is life changing.

Whatever teeth problems you have then only solution is by seeing your dentist of finding one who you relate to.

See if you relate to the video below and if so get the report which helped me to get my teeth sorted and overcome my fear. I know it will help you.

Do not suffer any longer. Get your smile back.
All the best, and keep smiling ok?

The injection in the gum to make that area numb is not at all painful. Do not worry and panicky.
In fact I was not knowing when the Dentist injected when I got my teeth extracted.
Best Wishes.

You could ask the dentist to start extracting without a numbing injection. Then you'd be begging him to stick that needle in your gums.

And if your parents have so much money, why not ask them to put you under? As in, put you to sleep through the procedure.

If that's not possible, try some meditation to clear your mind for 15 minutes or so. That will relax you prior to the injection.

I don't know about the cream, but pychologically, if you're so worried, and are anticipating the injection, you could make yourself feel the pain just from thinking about it. If the mind thinks you're about to be in pain, then it will put you in pain. Same thing with mass hysteria, people actually make themselves sick by thinking about the possibility of being sick.

Just try to meditate, or consciously attempt to forget about the injections. As in, stop focusing completely on the injections.
I think the best thing you could do is simply face your fear. It won't last long, just tell yourself that. The injections are necessary, tell yourself that. Logically, you should want the injections.
