Will I have to have a bottom retainer?!
Question: Will I have to have a bottom retainer?
I'm getting my braces off in a couple of weeks. I know I'm going to have a top retainer, but I'm not sure about the bottom. Do you think I'll have to get one? I have some friends that have a bottom retainer, but my cousin didn't have to get one. And also, can I choose whether or not I get a detachable retainer or a fixed one? I'm going to be moving in late March or April, so I can't really come back my orthodontist.

I got my braces off a couple of months ago and i got top and bottom retainers! You take them out to eat and then clean your teeth and the retainers and then put them back in! You will most likely have to wear them full time for a year because the teeth will move back!
I had braces years ago and i had clear upper retainer and i also have permnant retainters on my lower and upper teeth to keep them straight and in line you may get those put on it depends on what your Orthodontists suggests or wants or thinks that will keep your teeth straight
