Should I have baby canine tooth?!

Question: Should I have baby canine tooth?
Hi there I'm nearly 18 and I still have a canine baby tooth on the bottom left and I've had braces for about a year and 5 months now, and I supposed to be getting them off in march. My adult canine tooth has already fully grown and is along the baby tooth, not overlapping as you might have expected. I was just wonder is there any point in having the baby tooth taken now. And how much longer will I need braces to fix the gap left by having the baby tooth taken out.

I'm desperate to have them off before I go to uni.

Anything u can tell me on the matter will be much appreciated.

My daughter had the same problem as you, and needed several baby teeth removed her top canine teeth were both sticking out over her baby ones, when she smiled she looked like dracula, which wasn't funny. dispite my nagging our dentist over several years, they were not removed until she was in her late teens, after which she had a brace fitted. Luckly she did not need it for long

Your Dentist should have removed it before the braces. Talk to him about it.
