What is the point. this is only done after tooth extraction to aid healing.

The salt can create sores in your mouth, not to mention high blood pressure if swallowed. Salt, over time, erodes things. Picture your teeth being a rock, rock constantly being exposed to salt is not good for it. Your teeth have enamel on them and constantly applying salt to them is not good for the enamel. The reason dentists tell people to do a salt rinse is to keep infection from setting in. Use mouth wash instead of salt water after you eat, it is much healthier.

I think it is excessive, a good gargle and rinse with boiled, cooled, salted water once an evening is good ( in my humble opinion)

life experience

Plain warm water would do I think, but in my opinion a little pinch of salt is not going to do much harm now and again.

Not much if anything to be gained by salt water rinsing.

Just brush your teeth with salt before you sleep.

I think it would do more bad than good
