Should I stick with what the dentist told me or should I get a second opinion?!

Question: Should I stick with what the dentist told me or should I get a second opinion?
I went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned a little over a month ago. When she did an evaluation on my teeth she said that four of them needed to be extracted because they are impacted. She did this before I had my x-rays taken. When I left, the nurse told my mom to take me to the orthodontist to see if there were any more teeth that needed to be pulled. I have a problem with this because:

1. When I went to the dentist the first time, they didn't see anything in the x-rays.
2. The first time I went there, they said I had a crossbite.
3. Two of the teeth she said should be pulled are permenant. I know because when I was around 9 or 10, I had teeth extracted from the exact same spots.

Should I stick with what she said, or go get a check-up some where else? Is the dentist wrong?

Unless you're incapable of eating, you do not "need" to have any teeth extracted. An orthodontist does not do tooth extractions, so they only reason they'd send you there is if you were planning to get braces. If you're not planning for braces, you absolutely need to get a second opinion. If you are, you need to go by the advice your orthodontist gives you, as they're specifically trained on what needs to happen to get the best tooth movement and placement.

Its always best to get a second opinion if you aren't satisfied with what your doctors/ dentists say. Also, they are so busy and humans make mistakes so Xrays could have gotten mixed up. So go to a new dentist/ orthodontist and see what they have to say.
