That happened to me a small piece was left, after a couple of weeks it came to the surface on its own and I just lifted it out. The dentist did a shoddy job.

On the rare occasion a fragment comes off during the extraction or a piece of jaw bone splinters off but they are not normally visible to the naked eye and only come to light when healing issues occur or discharge and bleeding. You could also be seeing bone as well.

But if you are concerned phone your dentist and discuss it with him in the morning.

Hello, What you see could be explained by one of three issues..(1) Yes it's possible you could be seeing a piece of tooth..(2) You may be seeing bone and (3)..When the extraction site begins to heal it often develops a white looking substance in the socket. If you have real concerns go back to your dentist or have another dentists check it out. Good luck and I wish you well.

Sorry, but yes, it happens. I have experienced that myself. The leftover root will work its way up in time and you'll have a sore place when it emerges. Your dentist should remove it at no cost to you.

it could be a bone my friends dad had the same thing happen its like a piece of tooth just left there.
I strongly advise going to the dentist.

My friend's dad got a tooth taken out

If it was a milk tooth that you had removed you may already be seeing the next tooth.

Only if the dentist does a shoddy job
