What is this called (pic)?!

Question: What is this called (pic)?
When I stick my lower jaw out, it doesn't align with my top teeth. What is this called? Is this bad? Should I consider braces, or would braces even fix it? http://i55.tinypic.com/ejcz14.jpg

Possibly this is a "crossbite", I'm not sure. Could someone else verify my hypothesis?

We can all stick out our lower jaw and make them mis align when we want to. Not the most healthy thing to do on a regular basis because of the pressure on the TMJ.

Braces are only available on the NHS if you are under 19 and in full time education and if there is genuine clinical need. That clinical need can only be assessed by your dentist and if you qualify then he will refer you to a orthodontist. There is no provision for cosmetic reasons.

Talk to your own dentist about your concerns next time you visit.

its not cross bit its an under bit. but your teeth dont have to align, thats not your normal bite i just got braces off and mine dont line up. your fine. but i cross bit is when your cusps (on your molars) are crossed not your anterior incisal edge.

He he he, pointy tteeff!
