A good dentist will take dental models of your mouth before any bite adjustment are made, it is very easy to remove tooth structure but had to put back. The dentist should to the work on the dental model first before experimenting on your bite. One of the reasons for this is if too much tooth structure is removed then another spot in your bite will then be to high, if the dentist then adjusts that spot then a different spot will be too high and so on as the doctor chases the high spot around your mouth. Another factor that you may be having is you jaw or TJM is not in a stable position. With out your TMJ being stable your bite could be slightly different each day depending how much you clinch and grind your teeth at night. If you can afford a good dentist that is well trained you should get a second option or consultation from a dentist that specializes in occlusion and TJM issues. https://sites.google.com/site/denvergene… is the website that I am working on to help people if a good independent dentist that care about the patient and not some corporate headquarters in another state. If your tooth needs a root canal or be extracted you can also find a good dental specialist at http://www.wix.com/brianrobertson80130/d… . I hope this information is helpful and good luck! Takes some Advil and do a warm salt water rinse to get through the night.

Plain and simple you need to see an Oral Surgeon for a diagnosis as you may need a surgical procedure to correct the issues you have, Good luck and I wish you well.
