Question: Is the tooth gap surgery painful?

I've heard it is really painful but I despise my gap. Is the surgery where they snip the gum painful?

It hurts when the anesthesia wears off...just stay on soft, cold, bland food, apply ice and take pain medication for the initial 3/4 days and you will be fine...
