I'm getting braces tomorrow! Are they really worth it? PICTURE?!

Question: I'm getting braces tomorrow! Are they really worth it? PICTURE?
When I was younger I was told I didn't need braces. Now I'm 18 and I am very insecure about my teeth. They are my only physical insecurity. One of my teeth is rotated and shorter than the rest of them, and there are gaps between my teeth. In fact, here is a photo...

I found a respected orthodontist and I am actually getting braces tomorrow (Sadly, on Valentine's Day) I'm worried about the pain... And I was wondering if you guys think braces are worth the dreaded appointments, money, and pain. Would braces be beneficial in my situation? Could I obtain perfect teeth?

No don't bother, your teeth look fine.

The only pain you are going to have is when you first get them on and every time you get your wire changed..it shifts the teeth thus causing the pain but it goes away after like a week or less.

You most likely will benefit from them..plus if you really don't like your teeth and you want them fixed then it is worth the pain and appointments and probably even the money (only if you actually follow up after the braces come off).

You will get "perfect" teeth, but like I said before you have to make sure you always! wear your retainer after they come off and follow up with the orthodontist when it's all over.

On my 2nd round of braces

Your braces will not take long at all. Maybe a year. Your 24 & 25 are distoversion... not bad at all though. Just get them.. will probably take a year or year and a half MAX.

I would get them. Your bottom two teeth are going in a V. It will get worse. And you have to big azz choppers on top, ask if you can get those filed down.

Your 'very insecure' about your teeth. So if you have the chance to change them....why are you doubting it?

I had braces for 2 years when I was 14.
They dont hurt at all when they are being put on. They do ache quite a bit after. So take some pain meds. They will hurt a fair bit for 2-3 days and then ache a bit when you are eating.
You will be on soft foods (most likely just liquids) for the first 3 days. and then soft solids after that (so like pasta)

Once your teeth are used to them they wont hurt.

Then when you get them tightened they will ache a little bit (nothing like the pain after getting them) for 2-3 days.
