Question: Tongue tied/ tongue clipping?
i am tongue tied and am 16 is it too late to get it clipped i can problems with speech and can be hard to talk at times. i wanted to get it clipped so i would be longer :S but also because ewhen i stick my tongue out the web bit hurts for a day or two after. the doctor said i could do it but i could have problems with speech and stuff.
does it hurt and have you got it done?

Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and the answer is 1) you can do this at any time, any age, and NO, it does not hurt. The procedure takes about 5-10 seconds with a laser to melt the ligament, it does not hurt(the doctor numbs the area) and you will be thrilled with the immediate results.. DO NOT WAIT ONE MORE MINUTE, call an ENT doctor and get this done right away. Most Oral Surgeons can do this as well and it only takes a few seconds. If you have any other questions, please ask.
