Well it would sure make the muscle stronger. But take a break once in a while, yeah?
I’m a dentist.
Chewing gum doesn’t make your jaw stronger, as far as I know. It doesn’t require a lot of force to squeeze gum between your teeth, thus it won’t build your jaw muscles much.
What does strengthen the jaw muscles (i.e. masseter, pterygoids, and temporalis muscles) is clenching your teeth. Of course, this is a very bad thing to do!
So, what does chewing gum do? It causes more wear and tear on our temporomandibular joints.
That’s why I rarely chew gum.
yes it does but if you chew gum too much you can get TMJ(Temporo mandibular joint) it means your jaw joint has been overworked and is sore and inflamed. it happens when you move your jaw bone too much. if you do get TMJ keep your mouth closed as much as possible.
Yes, but it also burns 11 calories every hour so keep chewing
