dose root canal hurt while they are operating?!

i had 3 total root canals! They give you a numb shot ( which doesn't hurt ) so you wont feel nothing while they are operating! Trust me! I usually fall asleep!

i had root canal work for the first time last year and was dreading the worst. However it was hardly any different from having a normal filling and having had a good dose of local anaeshetic felt no pain and only a very slight discomfort when the anaesthetic wore off.

It shouldn't hurt. They will give you local anesthetic to numb the area they are working on. You should not feel anything.
