Have you been eating PINE NUTS by any chance in the last few days? It could be that.

I work at a cookery school in England and the problem is common--people describe a metalic/coppery taste at the back of the throat and is most obvious when you eat and at the point of swallowing. It's called Pine Mouth and it clears up within a week. It's caused by a fungus on poorly harvested pine nuts from China, some sort of harmless fungus growth. The rush to produce pine nuts for the world has exasperated the problem because they are not being dried properly before they are packaged.
