Question: How does bacteria form in the mouth overnight causing tartar buildup even when brushing your teeth at night?
I wake up and feel all that tartar on my teeth. It forms overnight but how?

Answers:

your mouth is full of bacteria. You star producing tartar forming compounds as early as 15 minutes after a good cleaning at your dentist; there is not escaping it. Instead of just brushing, you could also use a mouthwash (antibacterian, anti plaque...) of your choice. Speak to the pharmacist for help.

Tartar forms after 24 hours when plague is not completely removed from your teeth when you brush. Plague is in the saliva and coats your teeth and by the end of the day, most of it gets shove down towards the gumline. Tartar continues to buildup as you fail to completely remove it by brushing. If you can feel tartar on your teeth, then it was there previously and has just gotten thick enough for you to detect. Plague calcifies to become tartar (aka calculus).
