Thanks for the additional details. Sounds like your malocclusion is not severe enough to be considered as a full orthodontic case.
I looked up Orthofill and they appear to be elastic bands that the patient applies and wears at night. They work by "tilting" the front teeth mesially (inward, toward each other) at the biting edges. In other words, the angle of the teeth is changed. This does not move the tooth bodily through bone, which is how it's done with orthodontic brackets, wires, headgear, etc. This "tilting" effect with Orthofill is probably temporary, and when you stop using them the natural forces in your mouth (tongue, lips, chewing pressure, jaw growth, etc.) will probably return your teeth to their previous position.
If the only problem with your teeth is a slight gap in front, it might be correctable by minor tooth movement (but not Orthofill), which would be much less expensive (and much faster) than a full orthodontic case. Sometimes minor tooth movement can be done with a removable retainer, so you might not even need brackets bonded to your teeth and wires. When the movement has been completed you could wear the retainer at night which would keep the tooth in alignment. I would ask your dentist about this. Many general dentists do minor tooth movement, at least in the USA. Not sure about other countries.
