Well to get them in probably takes about 45 minutes. It could take anything from six months to two years. The best answer you'll get will be from your orthodontist. It doesn't hurt getting them in, you'll probably be slightly uncomfortable for the first couple of days, but after that you'll get used to them. You can buy wax to put on the braces if they are rubbing against the inside of your mouth. Don't worry, it'll be time to get them out before you know it! Look forward to the feeling you'll get when you get them off and you look in the mirror for the first time! Its amazing!

I had braces!

Getting your braces takes about 45minutes to an hour. It doesn't hurt at all, apart from you might get jaw ache keeping your mouth open that long!

How long the braces need to stay on for depends on a lot of factors. There are some things you can do to make sure that they are not on any longer than they need to be!

For example, you will have appointments around every 6 weeks with your orthodontist, and it's really important that you don't miss the appointment. Also, if a bracket falls off or something on the brace breaks, it is vital you go back and see your orthodontist as soon as possible. Leaving it until your next appointment would mean that the brace is being ineffective and will make your treatment 6 weeks longer.

Having brilliantly clean teeth is also really important, as your orthodontist may decide to remove your braces in the middle of your treatment if your teeth are in a bad condition. Have dirty teeth while you have braces on can leave you with horrible brown stains on your teeth once the braces are off!!

Actually having the braces put on is really quick and doesn't hurt. That day your mouth will be quite achy as your teeth and jaw starts to adjust, but just take some pain-killers and you should be OK.

It sounds like you'll probably have train tracks, but they might start you off with a retainer to ease you into the process.

Don't worry too much, its not as bad as it looks and at the end of it all you'll have a lovely set of teeth. That's got to be a good incentive!

im not gonna lie, it aches for about 4 days, so TRUST ME, take some painkillers.
you have to keep the braces on for about 18 months sadly! Ive had mine of for about 4 or 5 months.
If you're a boy i'd get blue or green, if you're a girl, pretty much anything looks good.
dont worry, they're not that bad, you just gotta keep your mouth open for about 20 minutes while they attach the braces - thats the most uncomfortable!:)

It takes awhile to place the brackets and stuff yes, it wont hut when youre getting them on but afterwards you'll wanna die! haha.
