How long will I have braces?!

You really need more information. Depending on how crooked or off your teeth are the longer you need braces. But judging on what information you gave us im assuming that it shouldn't take too long. I had extremely crooked teeth on the top and i had braced for just a couple months, and my teeth are perfect now. Also brush your teeth well and clean your teeth when you have your braces, then afterwards you won't have disgusting teeth or stains on your teeth. Also listen to your dentists, if you somehow mess up your braces it'll cost money and plus your teeth could be ruined. And after your braces are off remember to wear the retainer or do whatever the dentist says to do because, if you don't your teeth will end up not stabilizing and just grow crooked again thus causing you to get braces again. Its not that bad though. I chewed gum and everything and i never wore my retainer, but thats not the point. Just don't do anything too bad to your braces :P and i dont think you'll have them for too long. Hope i helped! if not then good luck!!!!

I'm sorry to say no one can really predict this. It all matters on how good your teeth are. My cousin had his tops on for 6 months and he's getting his bottoms soon i think. now ME, i have a big overbite so i need mine for 3 years (luckily one year's passed :D ) So anyways, what i'm trying to say is, no one except people like your parents, and orthodontist can really know how long you're gonna need braces. But hopefully if you & your parents know what your mouth problem is, YOU can figure out how long you may need them.

Each case is different. Only your orthodontist can give you an estimate.

It really depends on how quickly your teeth will move. If your teeth aren't too bad, then it might not take long at all. If they are bad, then it could take quite a long time. I would expect to have them for around a year. That's how long my sister had braces and hers weren't too bad. My teeth were pretty bad, and I had them for 2.5 years. Also, you will want to consider having a retainer cemented behind them. If you do not, then you will have to put in a retainer every night for a minimum of 5 years, or your teeth will move back. I wore my retainer for about 4 years after my braces, and my bottom teeth moved after I took it out, so now i need braces on my bottom teeth again. If you get a retainer cemented for life though, then your teeth will always be straight and you won't have a thing to worry about.

Finally, you could always get the clear braces if you are worried, and they are almost invisible. I believe they are called invisiline, but i could be mistaken. I do believe that they are just as effective if not more so than actual braces, but they are quite a bit more expensive.
