Question: Having teeth taken out and braces?

Today I'm going to the dentist to have 2 top teeth taken out and then having train tracks put on my top teeth. Then 2 weeks later I'm having 2 bottom teeth taken out and train tracks put on my bottom teeth.

I've never had teeth out before, my dentist said he'd numb the area first with this stuff that tastes of bubblegum before he puts the injection in, but I'm still really nervous. Does it bleed when the tooth comes out? How long does it take to get numb? Any answers like that will be appreciated.

I had pretty much the same treatment as you but only two teeth had been removed (baby with no adult tooth & a baby canine/incisor had to be pulled so the adult incisor could come out after drilling a hole through a bone.)

To be perfectly honest, you'll feel a little pain from the needles but it takes like 30-50 seconds till you feel the numbness. Yes your gums bleed when your teeth gets removed but the dentist/ortho will put cotton onto it to stop.

I was nervous even after the procedure finished.

Numbing lotion usually works within a few minutes. From memory it doesnt hurt to have teeth pulled but you feel a little pressure
