Should I go to e.r. for second time in 4 months for dental abscess?!
Question: Should I go to e.r. for second time in 4 months for dental abscess?
I had an abscess on the left side of my mouth 4 months ago, and I went to the e.d. where they gave me antibiotics. I have a dental appointment in 2 weeks for a total restoration. When I woke up this morning I am pretty sure I have another abscess (different tooth!). I called my dental office, and they said they can get me in on Monday (its only thursday) to prescribe antibiotics. He also mentioned that they will not be able to proceed with the restoration until the infection is cleared up.
I was thinking about going to back to the e.d. for antibiotics so it would be a quicker process, but Im wondering what the people at the hospital will think of me.

It is sad and ridiculous that your dental office will not see you for a simple prescription immediately. Do not wait the weekend, get a prescription any way you can. See your MD, go to an emergency clinic, go to the ER. Get it done!
