if you go to your local pharmacy or health food store
buy oil of cloves
you put a small amount on a tissue and hold it to the painful area
this will very quickly take the pain away

or you can put some whisky on a tissue and hold it to painful area
same result

I would go with the oil of cloves
its very cheap
and you can still drive your car

Don't get drunk, however you ARE in the right direction.
You could rub some alcohol on your gums and on the tooth that is hurting.
Parents do this when babies grow their teeth, however it is also done for regular tooth pain.

Yes but you have to sober up before the dentist will attend to you, in the meantime the problem tooth may have gotten much worse and cause greater pain. Best bet is to see an emergency dentist

Booze can numb the pain but hell I wouldnt want to wake up in the morning with a crushing hangover AND unbearable toothache.
