getting my braces off on friday?!

I got mine off years ago, so they may have an even better technique now; but when i got mine off they disconnected the wires, used a little clamp to hold onto the metal bit, and leveraged it off with a pop. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt, and tooth roots are strong so it's not really possible for them to damage your teeth. Btw, your teeth will feel really slimy and weird for like a month, but whatever, all that means is that your mouth isn't used to not being ripped up by metal studs, lol.
