Do i need to take my lip piercing out for orthodontist/braces?!

Question: Do i need to take my lip piercing out for orthodontist/braces?
So basically i need braces ... i got my lip pierced in august of last year and since then ive been told i needed braces... in January i went to my first ortho appointment got my moulds/xrays done without being asked to take my lip piercing out except for xray (messes with the scans) and then on my 2nd appointment my ortho just measured my teeth and still never mentioned my lip piercing... will that mean i wont have to take my lip piercing out or will he just be waiting until the day i actually get them to tell me ? :P i understand that it isnt a good thing to have braces and lip piercings - just im curious because if i do i dont want to turn up on the day of my fitting with my piercing in just for him to be like "oh by the way you cant have that in and get a lecture )

If I were you I'd take it out- you wouldn't want something to go wrong in the middle of getting them on! The dentist's in your mouth for quite some time, and I think it would be in his/her way.

I have braces (but getting them off next month!

What you will probably find is that they will fit them perhaps without commenting at all and then you will find out yourself over the first few days that the two will not work together and have to take it out.
There well be rubbing and noise that you will not be able to tolerate in the long term.

Your Lips Get Moved About Quite Alot When A Brace Gets Fitted As The Dentist Has To See And Get To All Your Teeth, So I'd Say It Would Be Easier Just To Take It Out.

You will need to take it out while you have your braces in.
