Do you need IV Sedation when getting porcelain veneers?!

Question: Do you need IV Sedation when getting porcelain veneers?
IV sedation is an option, but is it necessary? Can you withstand veneering with some sort of oral sedation instead?

Answers:

No. I consider that to be a ridiculously expensive option for a procedure that will not be painful under local anesthetic. If you are simply nervous, have your dentist prescribe some halcion. It works wonders to relieve anxiety issues.

I am a dentist

u do not need iv sedation, local anesthesia would do just fine .. porcelain veneers is a long procedure but less "drilling" compared to crowns, depending how many ur getting. ... i have veneers!

All I needed was a bit of novocaine. No sedation necessary.
