is it dangerous to see a dentist for an abscess tooth during the first month of !

Question: Is it dangerous to see a dentist for an abscess tooth during the first month of pregnancy?
I found out that I am possibly in the first month of pregnancy and I do have an abscess tooth that is going to be taken care of in about 13 hrs to be exact and I'm worried. I was discussing it with my bf about what if they have to knock me out to take the tooth out. Will it be safe and ok? They might have to remove the entire tooth since pieces of it have been falling out/off of it and it hurts to open and close my mouth or when hot or cold air hits it plus no matter how much i floss, brush, rinse, and even use salt water it doesnt help... will everything be ok?

so long as the dentist is aware that you are pregnant, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. they take proper precautions and don't do anything that would greatly jeopardize your pregnancy...NOT having it taken care of is more of a risk, as the infection can go into your bloodstream and affect your unborn child.

its more dangerous not to go, the abscess could become an infection that gets in your blood stream, BUT make sure you tell the dentist that you could be pregnant, so that they can take the proper precautions in case there are x-rays or the meds or whatever, they have encountered this before so they will know how to handle it.

Just tell your dentist that you might be pregnant. They
are drs, and will know what to do

yes you will be okay just make sure you tell the dentist you are pregnant

im 31weeks pregnant had the same thing if u have it at this stage makes u at risk for preterm labor my ob told me to see a dentist right away. they treated me with antibiotics first and i got it removed a week ago! they cant put you under or anything only give you the shot in the gums. i had a choice of root canal or pulling it. i chose to pull it didnt hurt that bad they gave me tyleonol 3for the pain cant really have much of anything while pregnant! but its perfectly ok to go to the dentist:)
