I suggest to call your dentist, or clinic and let them know what is happening. they will want to see you ASAP, even as an emergency patient if you can reach them after hours.
It's pretty important to have a professional assist you with this. You wouldn't want to cause more damage by biting down on the post accidently.
Try to get ahold of your dentist ASAP, at the very least they can walk you thru what to do untill morning.
First off: Any dentist who would try to save a tooth that is already loose enough to fall out is not practicing dentistry well. It may not be dangerous right away but it can become serious quite quickly. The metal post is infringing on the gum tissues natural healing cycle, meaning if the post stays it may be stuck in there. Another reason to remove the post is that having a wound open like that can lead to infection that may spread to your other teeth. I would advise you to call your dentist as soon as possible, and tell them it is an emergency. Hope everything works out for you!
