Question: Painful lump on roof of mouth?
Last week i experienced pain on the roof of my moth on the soft palate to the right side and i didn't know what it was and now i have waited and there is a rather small-medium sized bump that is quite painful especially when swallowing. I have been touching it with my tongue a lot so maybe i just irritated it? I am quite concerned by this and thank you for all the answers.

Sounds like an abcess. Make an emergency appointment with your dentist and get it drained asap, they can be dangerous if you let them go.
