How do you get dental work done at a hospital?!

Question: How do you get dental work done at a hospital?
I don't have dental insurance but I do have Medicaid (which in TN doesn't cover dental services for ppl over age 19). I went and had an extraction done at a dental office and he did finish the extraction but told me if I needed anymore work done I'd have to have it done at a hospital under general anesthesia because I have MS so my body doesn't respond to anesthetics. So my questions are, how do i get it done at the hospital? Do I just call them. Or do I go thru my primary care doctor? Also would this be covered under my medical insurance with it being done in a hospital?

Answers:

Your dentist will have to admit you to the hospital and arrange for the OR. And, yes, under certain circumstances, dental surgery must be done in the hospital.

Just trip over a wheelchair and damage your teeth.... then you can sue them and get your teeth done :)

Angry chicanos.

It doesn't work that way. You go to the dentist for dental work. You go to the hospital if you get hurt.

This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger - this is the plan to choose.

Short Term Medical Plans
This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you're no longer covered under your parents' medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you're employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you've found a new job, but your new employer's group health insurance plan won't kick in until you've been with months.
