Getting an impacted tooth exposed help?!

Question: Getting an impacted tooth exposed help?
Ok so I went to the orthodontics and they said at first I wasnt eligible for braces because I have gaps and it was more of a cosmetic reason but they took an x-ray and found I had an impacted baby tooth in my gum.
They told me that I had two options either to get braces and get the tooth to come down or to forget it was ever there.
So I have chosen to get it exposed which involves surgery I am terrified of dental work and have never had to have anything done like this before they told me they can give me something to make me less nervous so I have a couple of questions
what might they use to make me less nervous and what are the effects?
Does the numbing injection hurt?
What happens during the tooth exposure?
How might I feel afterwards?
Honest answers please and thanks

You can go in 'pre-med' and have the dentist prescribe you xanex. Another option is N2O2 (nitrus oxide gas), it just makes you calm. An injection MAY feel like a tiny pinch, and I do say maybe because topical is used on the tissue before to numb a little. You won't feel too bad after. Take a motrin the night before.
